Why We Don't Have More Beta Downloads?
I just removed the Mileage verification tool for download due to some issues we found with it (it didn't initially support sub-codes for zip codes - you know, those last four digits on the extended zip code). The tool has been revised but I've removed it while our development team looks at it for further inclusion in the product.MTI wants to ensure you, our customers, only get properly tested services in your environment. When working with new tools, MTI tries to only work with one or two customers to ensure the feature works as needed. After that time, it is put through the proper process to ensure testing in a variety of environments.
Working with betas is always tricky - on one hand, you want the latest and greatest functionality; on the other, you have to be ready to accept some glitches or problems. It's also important to note that betas are not directly supported by our support team. They are only supported by the person who helps you get it started. When looking at new features or wanting to try new ideas, it's something to keep in mind. Some people like providing feedback, finding ways to improve the features - whereas others prefer to have a product/feature that has been thoroughly tested from day one. It's your choice.
Features that are supported by our MTI support team are the ones downloaded using the Horizon Installation Manager. Others may require some additional assistance from your beta contact.
